Introduction to Nostalgia X 2

I N T R O D U C T I O N

This book is, essentially, a sequel to "MY LIFE IN YOUR HANDS," an autobiographical account of my life from birth to approximately 1965. That book was occasioned by a desire on my part to communicate with old classmates or teachers in my old school, Central Falls High School, in Central Falls, Rhode Island. That desire was turned into a class project for the ninth grade and during the course of answering some fifty letters, I discovered I liked reminiscing about the happenings in my life, both in the Central Falls environs, and elsewhere. The narrative became easier as time progressed and before I knew it, I had enough material to put a book together and it had only carried me to 1965. I still have all the intervening years from that time to the present to discuss with someone.

The format for the aforesaid book was letters to me and my answers to those letters. The volume of letters I am now receiving, will not permit me to continue with that format. It is with reluctance, then, that I venture forth with the continuation of my story in a new format, hoping that it will be as equally well received as the first book.

I chose to title this book "NOSTALGIA X2" because it is the second book detailing my life's adventures. As with the first book, it is a true story, told to the best of my recollection. The people and events actually took place as stated. It is not my intent to cause embarrassment or hurt to anyone, so in the very few instances where this might occur, I will state that the name is fictitious.

The year is 1965, the place is Chun Chon, Republic of South Korea. I am a specialist fourth class (E4), in the United States Army, stationed at the Fourth Missile Command, Camp Page, Korea. We fire the Honest John Missile in support of the ROK government.

The story unfolds: (read by chapter, the last chapter is first)
